I was born in Los Angeles and split my childhood between northern and southern California. I was drawn to residential design and construction from an early age as I observed my parents – a longtime realtor and a general contractor – buying, refurbishing and selling homes. My love of buildings has only grown over the years, as I've been able to connect with various roles within the housing industry. My proficiency in math and interest in art also helped convince me that architecture was the right path.

I completed many of my degree requirements studying in Rome, where experiencing how the city’s ancient structures are incorporated into modern life added a depth to my understanding of how drastically the built environment can shape the culture of a place.

To me, architecture is an enigmatic and powerful amalgamation of many disciplines – it is as much about science as ethics, as much about art as mathematics.  I believe architects can change our world for the better if we build with humanity, compassion, and a sense of duty to implement sustainable solutions that stem from a deep understanding of and respect for our environment.
